Day 199 - Pre Ephifany day- Day at the shopping mall and Clint Eastwood Movie
Friday, January 18, 2019.
Today was a lazy day. Gregory and I went out for coffee at the cafe by of our apartment.
The girls working there already know that we like to drink macchiatos, which means coffee with milk here. We then walked to the church to see if there was some kind of ceremony going on before Ephifany which takes place tomorrow. We saw some people dressed in their traditional cotton white dresses praying and just hanging outside the church. Afterward, we walked to the Edna Shopping Mall which is just across the street from the church.
The shopping mall was three floors high and pretty modern. We went to the movie theater to see if they had movies in English, and they had two. We texted the kids to see if they would be interested in watching a science fiction movie. When they replied no, we decided to stay and watch the Mule by Clint Eastwood. We paid a pretty low price for two entrances, popcorn, and sodas. We were happily surprised to see how big the screen was and how clean and modern the seats were. We enjoyed the movie and our date. When we came out, it was dark and the shopping mall looked different. For the first time, I noticed the huge screen outside the mall. I noticed the Christmas lights and decorations in the mall and the roundabout. We walked back home. The kids ate bread with avocado for dinner and were frustrated that internet connection was bad but it was their choice to stay home!
