Day 149- Tel Aviv - Day at the Mediterranean Sea
Thursday, November 29th, 2018.
Today we got up on time because we are one hour behind of Istanbul so it wasn't hard to get up, plus there is light! What woke us up was music actually. Our apartment on the 8th floor is located in front of an elementary school and we can hear the kids clearly. The change was great. We had breakfast and afterward, we went to the grocery store in the corner. It is a mini market with the essentials and very pricey. We got the basics but it was interesting trying to understand what was what. In Istanbul, many of the things were in English. Here, not really. Everything is in Hebrew and we haven't started to study the alphabet. I know Daniel will start right away. Gregory was trying to figure out prices while I was trying to figure out menus! We finished our shopping and then walk back home. Gregory went to his Rotary meeting at 1:00pm and we went to the beach after we had lunch at home. We walked about twenty minutes to get to Blue Beach. It was empty and beautiful. The kids were thrilled to play in the sand and collect shells, there were so many. I sat in some chairs to watch them and to read. It got chilly but the kids didn't want to leave. We stayed there until 5:00pm to see the sunset and then we walked home.
At home, I caught up on the blog while the kids read. Later we had pasta and watched our traditional first Christmas movie: Elf.
