Day 146 - Stay day and movie Bohemian Rapsody

Monday, November 26th, 2018.

Today we stayed home all morning. We just couldn't make up our minds and decide what to do. The children didn't want to go out, me neither, actually. It was cold and rainy, but I felt like we had to take advantage that we were in a beautiful city with so many things to see and we had to cover something. We were going to go to the Hamam, mostly for the kids to experience it because Gregory and I already did it in Edirne, but they didn't really want to go. These dark and rainy days started to get to me, and I just wanted to leave Istanbul and go home. Gregory reminded me that we don't have a home, so I started to try and cheer myself up.
In the morning and afternoon, the kids did homework, and I took pictures of my nosy neighbor and just hung around the apartment. After lunch, I suggested we go to the movies to watch Bohemian Rapsody. Daniel chose to stay home, so it was Me, Sunshine, and Gregory. We loved the movie. The movie theater was in a hidden shopping mall on Istiklal street. It was brand new, with lots of empty space for new stores. We paid $12 for 3 tickets, two sodas and a big bucket of popcorn. We love the prices here, what a treat! The three of us really enjoyed the movie (and the popcorn). Afterward, I suggested we grab some coffee and baklava, but Gregorio said that he didn't like to leave Daniel alone for so long and of course, I melted (or more felt like the bad guy) and we went home to have dinner with him!

Day 309 - Lunch with Gregory’s friend Axel - River Bus - Golden Mount Temple

Sunday, May 12, 2019. After last night's adventure, we told the kids they could sleep in today. Around noon, Gregory and I went to meet Axel, an old German friend of Gregory's. We had a delicious lunch at Coffee Beans by Dao. We had a lovely time chatting until 3:00pm when the waiter told us that they wanted to close the restaurant. Axel drove us back to our hotel and we promised to get together next time with his wife and daughter, who is two years older than Sunshine. The kids had a wonderful time resting in the room and went out for lunch on their own. They are so aware of their expenses, they told us that a bottle of water cost 60 THB at the restaurant, and in the market, it cost 10! So Daniel went to the 7/Eleven and bought a bottle there.
