Day 67 - Last Day in Venice

Thursday, September 6th, 2018

Today we asked the kids if they wanted to go to Padua or back to Venice and they both chose Venice since it was our last day. Gregory and I wanted to show them a new city but then again, it's Venice! We went to the grocery store in the morning to get lunch for tomorrow and we cleaned the house. We went back to Venice after lunch. This is the beauty of living in Mestre, only 20 minutes away from this magical city. Gregory's mission today was to see the tomb of Canova, which is a pyramid inside a church. The name of the church was Basilica de Frari which also contains paintings by famous painters like Titian.

We also took the kids to the Old Ghetto where the streets are almost empty of tourists. We bought some art in a small gallery. We also went to the Fondamenta de Ormesini where most of the locals and students hang out and you can find a spritz for 2 euros. We had a very good time, no running or rushing around, just walking and enjoying our last day in this beautiful city. We came home had a nice dinner and finished packing for our departure.
