Day 37 - Nantes
Tuesday, August 7th, 2018.
Another day in Nantes. We went back downtown to check the Castle and to go inside it this time. We climbed the two towers and walked around the big chateau. We did not go into any of the museums, and we were bummed that Daniel couldn't go down a big slide because he was wearing flip-flops.
We walked to see "Le lieu unique" which was the factory of the famous cookies LU. We stopped for a drink in a nice cafe with hammock chairs and rested there for a while. We then went to check the inside of Le lieu unique. It wasn't anything special, just a restaurant and a bookstore. We decided to run back to take the tram because yesterday's ticket was still good for 3 minutes. (it was good for 24hours.)
We came home, made lunch and rested all afternoon at home. We all wanted to stay home and "chill," like Sunshine likes to say.
At night Gregory and I went out on a date. We walked around downtown looking for a nice place to have dinner. There were several restaurants but we ended up going to a bar that was recommended by our local guide. The name of the place was Bateau Lavoir and it was a boat on the river. The place was very unique and fun. We had some snacks with our drinks, we drew some funky art, and we chatted with some women in French, bien sur(of course)! I have to admit that this has been the best part of the trip, Gregory and I have reconnected and it almost feels like back in the days when we just got married. I guess after all those months of stress getting ready for our trip, we have finally relaxed and started to enjoy ourselves!
