Today we decided to stay cool and go to the picine publique (Public pool). This was the best idea my french friend Virginie could have given me. Gregory told us that it was close to our home but it was a 25-minute walk. It didn't matter, now we are used to walking between 3 to 8 miles a day! Who needs a gym? We made it to the pool, paid 4 euros per person and got in. The pool was very large and it looked empty. We found a palm tree and sat under the shade and we dived in immediately until one security man approached the kids and asked Daniel to take off his rashguard. I came to talk to him and explained that he needed because he had very sensitive skin and I didn't want him to get burned. He then asked me if I had a medical certificate, I laughed and explained that we were visiting. He apologized but he said rules are rules. Daniel got out of the pool and took a nap. Sunshine and I swam for a couple hours. I love to swim, it is the best sensation ever. It felt like a massage to my legs and my body. I just love the water! Around 2:30pm we got out of the pool and went outside to another area where we could eat our lunch. We have been enjoying our ham baguettes for lunch! We went back to the pool area where Daniel was napping and a security guy started to talk to me and I said: what? He said that it was forbidden to walked dressed in the pool area! I told him that I was just arriving from the picnic area and that I was about to take off the cover shirt I was wearing. It was crazy all the rules they had but they were very good about it. No food or smoking in the pool area, which is huge considering how much Europeans smoke everywhere. We have been finding boxes of cigarettes with messages saying how awful and bad is for you to smoke.
Anyway, we stayed at the pool until 5:00pm and walked to a different grocery store. This was bigger, and bought some stuff for dinner and walked home. We had wine and snacks on our balcony, wrote, took showers and had dinner. It was an excellent day!
