Day 15 - Tangiers

Today we woke up at 9:00 am and went downstairs to our usual cafe to have our last breakfast there. The waiters already know us and what we like to drink. After breakfast, we went back to our place where our host, Rachid was waiting for us and said: why didn’t you wait for me, I would have paid for breakfast like yesterday”. He never made it very clear if breakfast was included or not, in any case, food is inexpensive in Morocco and we said that it was fine. We decided to move to another house where we can have a common area for the family plus a kitchen, not that I want to cook. Also, Rachid’s place was quite noisy and we were in need of a good night’s sleep. We thanked our host and took a taxi to our new place, which was not far away from where we were. Day 215 - Looking for Safaris, a New Apartment and a Visit to the Medical Clinic

Sunday, February 3rd, 2019. We woke up at 8:30am with the screech of big birds! We had breakfast and sat all morning researching for safaris. Of course, Gregory found much better deals than the girl gave us yesterday. Now we need to decide how many days and figure out where are we going to leave our big suitcases and where are we going to stay next. As the morning passed, I was worried about Sunshine who was tired and had a temperature. Gregory and I decided to take her to the Medical Clinic because we were worried that it was malaria. I was so nervous that I even cried. Gregory, with his usual calmness (thank God) contacted our host who sent a driver to take us to the hospital. I was expecting the worst, but the Old Arusha Clinic was a clean, simple building. Thankfully, it wasn’t crowded, either. Day 197 - Walking Tour of Addis with Remedan (Remy), Gregory's Rotary Meeting

Wednesday, January 16th, 2019 We like to sleep in so I no longer set the alarm to wake up. The kids know that they have a couple of hours to do homework so they do it without my having to say a word. We had a bowl of pasta before leaving for our 1:30pm tour. I was surprised to see that there was a free tour in this city. Of course, it's not free, we always tip the guide well, especially if he or she is good. We called the friendly taxi driver that we had met the first day to come pick us up. I had told him that if he gave us good prices we would hire him for more days, so I think he did. We met at the Ministry of Education. Remedan approached us and told us he was our guide. He was young, thin, and very knowledgeable. He really knew his country's history. His English was good but I had a hard time understanding him.  He showed us buildings, monuments, universities, and churches, all the while explaining the complicated history of his country.
