Day 100 - Split - Beach Day

Tuesday, October 9th, 2018

Wow, 100 days traveling and we are still alive! I have to say that this experience is the best decision we have ever made! We still can't completely visualize the learning and growing that we are getting, but so far, I can tell that we have grown stronger as a family where we check constantly on each other and I think that's the foundation for the future. Sunshine and Daniel will know that home is where we are all together no matter where we are or the problems we're having -- it's not all about fun, but also about struggles and rough times.

That's my reflection for today!

We celebrated our 100th day of travel by spending the day at the beach. It was lovely, except for the fact that Daniel forgot to remind me to bring our goggles and I forgot the sandwiches! The best part was that we met a  very nice couple, a guy from Austria and his wife from California. When they heard us talking, Hans Pieter went back to his apartment and brought diving masks and cookies (Daniel was upset that I declined the cookies, but we had our own snacks) The masks really made my day because I was able to swim in the chilly water with all the fish. I must have been a fish in my other life because I feel at home when I do that! Daniel and Sunshine swam as well but didn't stay in the water as long as I did.

We went back home when we got really hungry. We thanked our new friends and walked back home where our sandwiches were waiting! We showered, watch a movie and ate tomato soup for dinner. It was a great day. Simple is more fun!

A cute restaurant at the corner of our apartment.

Date night at the St Riva

Republic Square, an Italian style piazza in the old town, behind color changing fountain. The port is a few feet beyond.
