Day 327 - Finding a new hotel in Chiang Mai

We enjoyed our last morning in our cute hotel Rom Po. The reason we wanted to find another hotel is that we wanted to be closer to Old Town and we found other hotels with better price.

We checked out at noon and then we walked to see other hotels that Gregory had researched the night before. There were just ok but we were not convinced so we kept walking in the street where we wanted to stay. It is a charming street full of life, full of restaurants, coffee shops, Thai massage, and spa salons. We just fell in love with this street last night and we want to stay here. We were not worried because it is full of small hotels and guesthouses. We stopped in a nice cute hotel and we all voted yes on it! It was a little more than we were paying and we were looking to save money but Gregory said that this would be the place where we could splurge so we stayed here.

The rooms are bright and cozy and it has a small pool. Daniel was even more excited because the internet is really fast. (180 Mbps!) We all got settled and then we went out for lunch. I think I’m going to have a hard time when we go back home since I haven’t cooked, cleaned or washed in a while! Oh well, right now I get to enjoy Thailand and our free time. Our concerns are where should we eat today, what should we do, what movie should we watch? Should I take a nap, read a book or write the blog?

After lunch, I took Sunshine to get waxed and then we went to a cute place to have a coconut and watermelon smoothie. It was raining so we got a little chilly if you can believe it! We went to our rooms to enjoy our comfy beds and our cable tv! No one wanted to leave the room but around 8:00pm, Sunshine texted that she was hungry of course! Now it was Gregory’s turn to take her out for snacks!

We decided to spend 3 more nights in Chiang Mai. We could stay here longer but Sunshine really wants to go one of the islands in the south so that’s our next plan!

Day 134 - Edirne, Turkey

Wednesday, November 14, 2018. Lazy morning. Went downstairs for breakfast. Back in the room to do homework and reading. Left the room for lunch at 3:15pm to explore the old town of Edirne, which used to be the capital of the Ottoman Empire. We visited the two most famous mosques and the bazaars. We stopped here for a late lunch. TIP: avoid the touristy areas right outside the main sights! We didn't. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great, either. For the price, it was jut OK. The interior. They didn't have a lot of vegetables because it was late and they had run out. The restaurant had pictures of the old town. I convinced Gregory and Daniel that I was taking a picture of them and not the old pictures above them. My favorite drink Ayran, for my Mexican friends, tastes like jocoque. Day 360 - Last day of the world tour. Flight back home

Tuesday, July 2nd, 2019 What a night! I hardly slept and woke up at 5:50am. I rested in bed until 6:15 and then I got up. We got ready and I went downstairs to check on Daniel. For some reason, I got lost so I came back upstairs to ask Gregory for directions and their room number. I finally found their room and was able to check on my baby. I could tell that he wasn’t feeling great but at least he didn’t have temperature and hadn’t thrown up. Sunshine and I brought their suitcases downstairs but of course, first we got lost, somehow we ended up on another floor. The whole hotel was weird, so we went upstairs to get Gregory and then, we finally made it to the first floor with the suitcases and then went by foot the last floor because the elevator didn’t go down all the way. That was the reason we got lost and ended in the garage!
