Day 307 - Movies at Terminal 21 Shopping Mall

Friday, May 10th, 2019.

Today we were going to go visit the Grand Palace but when the alarm went off, Gregory said that he didn’t want to go. I took that as an excuse and went back to sleep. I notify the kids that we were taking the day off and everyone seemed happy about that. I took a long shower, had our small breakfast. I helped Sunshine with her Gold Award project. I also tried to catch up on my writing. I had been alternately relaxed and sick in Vietnam, so I didn’t do much writing but then I regret it because I get really behind.

I didn’t advance much because I also had to book another two nights at the hotel and plan a fun day with the kids while Gregory went to his Rotary session. We decided to go to the movies at Terminal 21. I was very excited that there was actually a chick flick for Sunshine and me at the same time as Daniel’s movie. We girls watched Hustled with Anne Hathaway and Daniel watched Avengers: Endgame. He went to the movie by himself for the very first time. We like the movie and laughed a lot. Daniel also enjoyed his 3-hour movie. Sunshine and I wandered around the mall waiting for Daniel. Afterward, we walked back to our hotel where Gregory was ready to go out but we weren’t. He went out for street food and a drink by himself and Sunshine and I went out to 7-Eleven. I ended up buying street food because last night I had a delicious meal. This one was not so great but it is one of the cheapest dishes we will find in Bangkok. Everything seems more expensive since we come from Vietnam where the food was so cheap.

I caught up on the blog and now I’m trying to figure out what to do tomorrow. I feel like we really haven’t explored much of the city but maybe we have. I guess what I mean is that we haven’t gone to see the tourist attractions. Sometimes, I feel like we have to see them but then, the other part of me is tired and doesn’t want to see anything else. I think today was a great day because we did something that we would do at home. Today I felt homesick and wanted to be in my house and have no plans whatsoever!

Day 134 - Edirne, Turkey

Wednesday, November 14, 2018. Lazy morning. Went downstairs for breakfast. Back in the room to do homework and reading. Left the room for lunch at 3:15pm to explore the old town of Edirne, which used to be the capital of the Ottoman Empire. We visited the two most famous mosques and the bazaars. We stopped here for a late lunch. TIP: avoid the touristy areas right outside the main sights! We didn't. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great, either. For the price, it was jut OK. The interior. They didn't have a lot of vegetables because it was late and they had run out. The restaurant had pictures of the old town. I convinced Gregory and Daniel that I was taking a picture of them and not the old pictures above them. My favorite drink Ayran, for my Mexican friends, tastes like jocoque. Day 360 - Last day of the world tour. Flight back home

Tuesday, July 2nd, 2019 What a night! I hardly slept and woke up at 5:50am. I rested in bed until 6:15 and then I got up. We got ready and I went downstairs to check on Daniel. For some reason, I got lost so I came back upstairs to ask Gregory for directions and their room number. I finally found their room and was able to check on my baby. I could tell that he wasn’t feeling great but at least he didn’t have temperature and hadn’t thrown up. Sunshine and I brought their suitcases downstairs but of course, first we got lost, somehow we ended up on another floor. The whole hotel was weird, so we went upstairs to get Gregory and then, we finally made it to the first floor with the suitcases and then went by foot the last floor because the elevator didn’t go down all the way. That was the reason we got lost and ended in the garage!
