Day 303 - Dinner with New Kiwi Friends

Monday, May 6th, 2019.

Mmmm I don’t remember what we did since I’m behind writing on the blog and I don’t have any pictures. We must have stayed at the hotel and rested. Yes, that’s what we did but we also went out for dinner with the Kiwi family from the train. We went to a restaurant called the Tea Garden. The food was good, although service was slow compared to last night. The prices were excellent so I had a mojito and a Diet Coke. We had a good time with the family. The parent's names were Dave and Leanne and their children are Petra and Oscar. At the end of dinner, the four kids were finally engaged in conversation -- of course, it took them most of the dinner to warm up. Their family is leaving tomorrow so we won’t get to see them anymore. The good thing is that now we got friends and a place to stay in New Zealand.

I also finished A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini. I highly recommend it.

Day 134 - Edirne, Turkey

Wednesday, November 14, 2018. Lazy morning. Went downstairs for breakfast. Back in the room to do homework and reading. Left the room for lunch at 3:15pm to explore the old town of Edirne, which used to be the capital of the Ottoman Empire. We visited the two most famous mosques and the bazaars. We stopped here for a late lunch. TIP: avoid the touristy areas right outside the main sights! We didn't. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great, either. For the price, it was jut OK. The interior. They didn't have a lot of vegetables because it was late and they had run out. The restaurant had pictures of the old town. I convinced Gregory and Daniel that I was taking a picture of them and not the old pictures above them. My favorite drink Ayran, for my Mexican friends, tastes like jocoque. Day 360 - Last day of the world tour. Flight back home

Tuesday, July 2nd, 2019 What a night! I hardly slept and woke up at 5:50am. I rested in bed until 6:15 and then I got up. We got ready and I went downstairs to check on Daniel. For some reason, I got lost so I came back upstairs to ask Gregory for directions and their room number. I finally found their room and was able to check on my baby. I could tell that he wasn’t feeling great but at least he didn’t have temperature and hadn’t thrown up. Sunshine and I brought their suitcases downstairs but of course, first we got lost, somehow we ended up on another floor. The whole hotel was weird, so we went upstairs to get Gregory and then, we finally made it to the first floor with the suitcases and then went by foot the last floor because the elevator didn’t go down all the way. That was the reason we got lost and ended in the garage!
