Day 282 - Yangon - Day 3 of Water Festival

Monday, April 15, 2019.

 Today we slept in, went upstairs for breakfast, noticed that there is new personnel or maybe the others are on vacation. We spent all morning catching up with emails, taxes (poor Gregorio) and homework. We left the room around 2:30pm for lunch.

 The Water Festival is still going on. Gregory and Sunshine got wet, I managed to run and escape. It is fun for one day but this festival goes on for 3 or 4 days!

 We didn't do much that day, almost everything was closed and I regretted not buying my longyi (traditional skirt) for women. Tomorrow we leave Myanmar to go to Vietnam.

What have I learned from traveling for a year? The last homework assignment for my kids was an essay about what they learned about our trip around the world. I told them that Gregory and I had to do it as well. Here I am, in front of my laptop and not knowing what to start with. Day 360 - Last day of the world tour. Flight back home

Tuesday, July 2nd, 2019 What a night! I hardly slept and woke up at 5:50am. I rested in bed until 6:15 and then I got up. We got ready and I went downstairs to check on Daniel. For some reason, I got lost so I came back upstairs to ask Gregory for directions and their room number. I finally found their room and was able to check on my baby. I could tell that he wasn’t feeling great but at least he didn’t have temperature and hadn’t thrown up. Sunshine and I brought their suitcases downstairs but of course, first we got lost, somehow we ended up on another floor. The whole hotel was weird, so we went upstairs to get Gregory and then, we finally made it to the first floor with the suitcases and then went by foot the last floor because the elevator didn’t go down all the way. That was the reason we got lost and ended in the garage! Day 134 - Edirne, Turkey

Wednesday, November 14, 2018. Lazy morning. Went downstairs for breakfast. Back in the room to do homework and reading. Left the room for lunch at 3:15pm to explore the old town of Edirne, which used to be the capital of the Ottoman Empire. We visited the two most famous mosques and the bazaars. We stopped here for a late lunch. TIP: avoid the touristy areas right outside the main sights! We didn't. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great, either. For the price, it was jut OK. The interior. They didn't have a lot of vegetables because it was late and they had run out. The restaurant had pictures of the old town. I convinced Gregory and Daniel that I was taking a picture of them and not the old pictures above them. My favorite drink Ayran, for my Mexican friends, tastes like jocoque.
