Day 245 - Sunshine and Gregory go Flying Fox by Sunshine

Saturday, March 9th, 2019.

Hello blog readers, this blog post is brought to you by Sunshine (again)!!

I bet you're wondering why I am taking over the blog again. It's because this day, March 9th, is a very exciting day for me and my dad, but not for Daniel and my mom. They had a nice day staying home, getting work done and hanging out. But as for me and my dad, we were out the door by 9:30, on a bumpy tuk-tuk ride to the city. Aquiles, the friendly driver, dropped us off at an office.

There we waited excitedly for the shuttle. Meanwhile, a parade happened in the street, with a bunch of Indian women dressed in beautiful colors and men banging drums. It was cool. So the shuttle comes, and we are the only people on it (besides the driver obviously). We then take a long, bumpy, sketchy ride along the side of a mountain that had a pretty nice view of the river. Plus there were lots of monkeys along the side of the road! Finally, we arrived at yet another office, where we had to check in, get our height and weight measured, and watch a safety video (I bet the suspense is killing you now!). After what felt like hours we were pointed in the direction of a trail. We took the short hike up a rocky path, and finally, the platform came into view. I was so excited as they strapped on the harness and clipped on the helmet. We were put into a red, padded cocoon and hooked onto something from our backs. We stood on the platform holding on to the rail, and the supervisor instructed us to walk backward, backward until our feet flew up and we were hanging from the chord. Then the platform fell away and the gate was removed.

"Maybe this wasn't such a good idea." That's what my dad said seconds before we were speeding down the zip line, high above the river and the trees! It was awesome and so fast! Well, technically it wasn't a zip line, but a flying fox, because you're zooming by like Superman and not sitting up in the harness. It was over before we knew it, and then we were back on a shuttle on the bumpy road. This time we sat next to two guys, one from England and one from the Netherlands. They were cool and it was fun talking to them. And that's about all, we took the tuk-tuk back home and hung out the rest of the day. Theeeeee end!
