Day 189 - Stay-at-Home Day



Tuesday, January 8th, 2019.

Got up at 10:00am, had a late breakfast, did laundry, and caught up on my blog. Gregory and Daniel walked to the mall to get butter and eggs to bake brownies. They went also looking for malaria medicine. I’m starting to get a little anxious because we are supposed to start taking it tomorrow! I hope they find it. Now it's time to start lunch. I guess you never really have time to do what you want to do. You just have to make the time so today, I plan to read after lunch instead of going to the movies.

Sunshine and I stayed home and watched the only movie we could find in English: Tango And Cash. Not the kind of movie I would normally watch. We enjoyed resting in our peaceful apartment.

Gregory and Daniel went to the movies to watch Spiderman and had Coldstone ice cream. Things they never do at home, they do them in Cairo. At this point, I think we are all done with Egypt and we are just waiting for our departure date. Gregory texted me to let me know that he found some medicine by going to three pharmacies but we still need more. Tomorrow hopefully...

What I Learned from This Trip

What have I learned from traveling for a year? The last homework assignment for my kids was an essay about what they learned about our trip around the world. I told them that Gregory and I had to do it as well. Here I am, in front of my laptop and not knowing what to start with. Day 360 - Last day of the world tour. Flight back home

Tuesday, July 2nd, 2019 What a night! I hardly slept and woke up at 5:50am. I rested in bed until 6:15 and then I got up. We got ready and I went downstairs to check on Daniel. For some reason, I got lost so I came back upstairs to ask Gregory for directions and their room number. I finally found their room and was able to check on my baby. I could tell that he wasn’t feeling great but at least he didn’t have temperature and hadn’t thrown up. Sunshine and I brought their suitcases downstairs but of course, first we got lost, somehow we ended up on another floor. The whole hotel was weird, so we went upstairs to get Gregory and then, we finally made it to the first floor with the suitcases and then went by foot the last floor because the elevator didn’t go down all the way. That was the reason we got lost and ended in the garage! Day 134 - Edirne, Turkey

Wednesday, November 14, 2018. Lazy morning. Went downstairs for breakfast. Back in the room to do homework and reading. Left the room for lunch at 3:15pm to explore the old town of Edirne, which used to be the capital of the Ottoman Empire. We visited the two most famous mosques and the bazaars. We stopped here for a late lunch. TIP: avoid the touristy areas right outside the main sights! We didn't. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great, either. For the price, it was jut OK. The interior. They didn't have a lot of vegetables because it was late and they had run out. The restaurant had pictures of the old town. I convinced Gregory and Daniel that I was taking a picture of them and not the old pictures above them. My favorite drink Ayran, for my Mexican friends, tastes like jocoque. It is like light yogurt but salty. The menu was in English as well as in Greek and Bulgarian, that's how you know that it is a touristy restaurant. Inside th
